Employee Relations for Food Startups: Managing Sticky Situations w/ David Razon

We see it time and again — with all of the demands competing for a small food entrepreneur's attention, employee relations only rises to the top when situations are at or near crisis levels. Yet, from a business perspective, founders and owners know that investing in their employees and finding ways to keep them motivated pays off in the bottom line.In this workshop, human resources guru David Razon will walk us through systems and strategies for dealing with conflicts within your team. Participants will role play common conflict scenarios and practice skills to mediate, de-escalate and otherwise navigate sticky situations. In small groups, you'll get the chance to give and receive feedback on how you handled the scenarios and where you could improve.About David David Razon has managed people and human resource functions in restaurant, hotel, commissary and retail store settings in and around San Francisco for nearly 20 years. His experience spans independent restaurants, boutique hotels and global leaders in hospitality, including InterContinental Hotels and Starbucks Coffee Company. David currently works as director of people experience at Instacart, where he builds the talent function for HQ and field operations to ensure the company has the talent it needs to meet its ambitious expansion plans.
