REMEMBER ME

MARCH 6 - MAY 18, 2024: "Remember Me," a solo show featuring work by Bay Area artist & Pulitzer Prize-winning documentary photographer Preston Gannaway.

"Remember Me," an ongoing project now in its 19th year, was published by GOST Books in 2023. The series focuses on a boy growing up in New Hampshire following the death of his mother at age 4. The interplay of everyday details, landscapes and portraits work together to create an intimate longitudinal visual essay on loss, mortality and coming of age. The photos from the beginning of this series earned Preston Gannaway the Pulitzer Prize in feature photography in 2008.

Preston Gannaway is a documentary photographer and artist whose work centers around intimate narratives of American communities and landscapes. Born and raised in North Carolina, she is based in Sonoma County, California. Gannaway was a Light Work Artist in Residence in 2018 and a Pollner Distinguished Professor at the University of Montana in 2019; she regularly does commissions for publications and brands such as ESPN, Airbnb, and The New York Times Magazine. Her work is held in collections including the High Museum of Art, Chrysler Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Houston and Stanford University.
