New Ballet, the institution that Silicon Valley looks to for excellence in the art of ballet, announces the return of San Jose's favorite Nutcracker. Presented with Symphony San Jose for the first time since 2013, The San Jose Nutcracker is a joyful holiday production that transports the well-loved story to turn-of-the-century San Jose, with historical references that highlight the area's valley setting as a birthplace of innovation.
An innovative co-production structure makes this series of performances a win-win for two of San Jose's leading performing arts organizations, reflecting a renewed spirit of collaboration along with a new era of leadership in the San Jose classical arts scene. All performances will be conducted by New Ballet's Conductor Thomas Shoebotham.
Featuring New Ballet's professional dancers, students from New Ballet's American Ballet Theatre Certified training program and dancers from Los Lupenos Juvenil.
Also presented will be My Very First Nutcracker, a one-act performance for our youngest audience, accompanied by Symphony San Jose.
