FOG Design+Art is excited to announce that it has appointed its inaugural Fair Director, Sydney Blumenkranz. Blumenkranz joins the fair this fall, after leading the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's (SFMOMA) Events team for nearly six years. Blumenkranz brings her deep experience working in the arts to the fair, including holding roles at Christie's and Pace Gallery, as well as her contributions to FOG while at SFMOMA. Her visionary leadership will help elevate the fair experience for exhibitors and attendees alike.

Established in 2014 to create an international platform to champion art and design in the Bay Area, FOG Design + Art has seen remarkable growth, welcoming an increasingly impressive roster of galleries. The 2025 fair will bring together 59 exhibitors, including 13 galleries presenting in the second edition of FOG FOCUS. The fair will take place from January 23-26th at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco, with a Preview Gala on January 22 benefiting the SFMOMA's education and exhibition programs. This year's honorary chairs are Evans Hankey + Brook Lane and Jim Abrams + Mario Russo, Bay Area community leaders and devoted FOG supporters.

The fair will showcase a dynamic selection of leading galleries, artists, and designers, celebrating the intersection of art, design, and innovation. FOG is thrilled to welcome 15 galleries participating for the first time including: Galerie Maria Wettergren (Paris), Herald St (London), Kiang Malingue (Hong Kong), Lisson Gallery (London), Peter Blum Gallery (New York), SIDE GALLERY (Barcelona), Southern Guild (Los Angeles), and Venus Over Manhattan (New York) in Pier 3, Charles Moffett Gallery (New York), Chris Sharp Gallery (Los Angeles), Fernberger (Los Angeles), François Ghebaly (Los Angeles), House of Seiko (San Francisco), Municipal Bonds (San Francisco), and Superhouse (New York) in FOG FOCUS.

"FOG Design+Art has always been about celebrating our creative community and fostering connections within the art and design world," said Sydney Blumenkranz, Director of FOG Design+Art. "I am honored to take on this role and look forward to finding new and impactful ways to push the fair in new directions, and to find more opportunities for engagement with the arts community regionally and around the world."

Visitors to this year's fair will be greeted by FOG MRKT, a curated installation showcasing artisanal products and crafts with an emphasis on the Bay Area. MRKT will feature hand-crafted one-of-a-kind items, including a selection designed specifically for FOG. This year's fair also sees the return of FOG FOCUS, a dedicated pavilion designed to showcase art by young and underrepresented artists, and which offers entry at a lower price point. In addition, the fair will once again present FOG Talks, a programming series that explores ideas and issues relevant to the fields of art, design, technology, and our contemporary world. The programming is curated by steering committee member Susan Swig, and all talks are included with fair admission. The 2025 edition of FOG Talks will be announced in December.
