The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum and Planetarium

Museums

The Egyptian Museum at Rosicrucian Park has been a fixture of San José life for so long that it is difficult to conceive of a time without it. Hundreds of thousands of residents and visitors to Northern California have experienced "history coming alive" through the exhibits, tours, lectures and other activities at the Museum. How did this landmark come to be here in the Valley first known for citrus and prunes, and now famous for silicon chips?

The museum houses the largest collection of authentic ancient Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in western North America.  It is located at 1660 Park Avenue in San Jose’s beautiful Rose Garden neighborhood and is open; Wednesday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; last admission is one half-hour before closing.  Entrance fees for the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum are $9 general, $7 for seniors and students with I.D., and $5 for children ages 5-10.  Children under 5 can visit the museum free of charge.

Guests may also explore the Rosicrucian Peace Garden, an educational garden authentic to the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Open from 8 am to sunset every day, complimentary admission.
