The Emerald Tablet is pleased to present the brilliant Brazilian vocalist Sarah Cabral in concert. Accompanying Sarah will be two virtuoso musicians: mandolinist Eva Scow and guitarist Mike Taylor, along with percussion master Alex Elvis Calatayud.
There is much fascinating material to be found at the intersection of jazz and the wildly influential popular music of Brazil in the 1960′s and 1970′s. The latter, from such artists as Edu Lôbo and João Bosco, had a huge influence on the former, and the former returned the favor. Combine this fertile confluence with some of the exciting avant-garde sounds from artists like Maria João and Mário Laginha and you have an idea of the type of delights this evening will offer.
Don’t miss this event, which is part of North Beach First Fridays.
